Apparently, some people never learn. Last year, a well known character actor with an extensive filmography was arrested for skipping out on a hotel bill. Randy Quaid, and wife Evi Quaid, were arrested on charges of attempting to defraud an inn. The pair posted bail. Then they went home. This made a lot of headlines, as a person who has worked in Hollywood so long could have effortlessly afforded a lodging expenses. The couple was arrested in Texas, however the event took place in California. Just lately, both were imprisoned again for illegally residing at a property they used to own but had sold in Santa Barbara.
The first police arrest
Quaid and Evi Quaid were in lawful trouble last year. On Sept. 30, the Quaids were arrested on suspicion of defrauding an inn. After staying a night in a lodge, they deliberately or accidentally neglected to pay and were arrested in Texas. They posted bail instantly. However, they also missed several court dates. Eventually, both went back to court where Evi settled for probation and community service. They also paid off the hotel, according to CNN. At that point, all seemed back to normal.
The last police arrest didn’t imply squat
Some things tend to stick in a persons’ memory. One of them is normally selling a house. However, it somehow just did not register for Evi and Randy Quaid. The two sold a property they owned in Santa Barbara years ago. They were lately arrested for taking up residence illegally in the guest house on the property. Apparently, the two were certain they still owned the property, despite paperwork produced to the contrary. As outlined by ABC, the cops were having none of it and imprisoned them for burglary. If they really believed they owned the property, it seems weird that they didn’t go to the main house, and instead went to the guest house.
Hollyweird
Randy Quaid is the older brother of actor Dennis Quaid. Dennis has declined to remark on the incidents. Hollywood seems to produce a unique breed of crazy. Paris Hilton, Lindsay Lohan are just a couple of examples of Hollywood stars who can’t take the hint to not break the law.
